Recent sudden torrential rain and windstorms greatly damaged the tensile roof of the debate courtyard on 18th April 2024. Though no life was lost, great damage was done to the roof which was of tensile quality. The debate courtyard is an important place in the monastic education system where monks gather for debate sessions daily as per the curriculum.
The first phase of work commenced at the debate courtyard, with the removal of tensile sheets and poles from the roof.
An Appeal has been made by the monastery for the donations/offering/contributions so that the funds will be used for the new roof at the debate courtyard and the debate session as well as the religious teachings that have been scheduled at the debate courtyard will go as planned.
