After every four-month or quarterly, Drepung Gomang Monastery has been issuing 75% medical allowance to the monks who have gone for medical treatment in better hospitals in cities provided that they submit their medical expenses bills/receipts to the administrative office. A total of Rs.1906212/-medical allowance was issued to venerable monks of this monastery.
The continuity of this medical allowance depends on the availability of funds in this project. We request all the kind individuals, NGOs, and dharma friends to kindly contribute or offer a donation to this project so that Drepung Gomang Monastery will be able to continue providing medical care and medical allowance for Venerable monks who are in need of help.

Started on the 15th day of the first month of Tibetan Lunar Calendar, the auspicious occasion of Chotrul duchen. In observance of Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, Drepung Gomang Monastery under the initiative headed by His Eminence Khen Rinpoche has started a virtual program on Basic of Buddhism for youngsters and for those interested.
As requested by the monastery, the text tutor of Drepung Gomang Monastery Geshe Lharampa Jamyang Gedun gave teaching on the basic of Buddhism on the topic of impermanence and death as the observance of the Year of gratitude to H.H.the 14th Dalai Lama as coordinated by Drepung Gomang Monastery.
Venerable Tulkus/Lamas and learned scholars/masters/geshes will be also taking part in the series of virtual programs in days to follow and will be teaching on Buddhism. Taiwanese philanthropist Chao Hung and family provided charity funds of Rs.5283 to each poor and needy 14 Indian from the nearby village of Indoor, Nandikatta and Agadi. The total sum of Rs.73790 was distributed as directed by the donor. Drepung Gomang Monastery sincerely conveys deepest thank you to donor for this compassion, kindness and generosity.

On the auspicious occasion of Kunkhen Duesang 18th March, (anniversary of Great Kunkhen Jamyang Shepa), His Eminence Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Gyaltsen la appointed Gungru Geshe Lharampa Jampa Choden and Lubum Geshe Lharampa Sangay Gyatso as the two new tutors for the monk students of Drepung Gomang Monastic College. His Eminence also blessed and welcome the new tutors with the Khatak (a Traditional white Scarf) in the presence of all the monks at the Praying Session (Puja).

Sacred Art our group headed by Venerable Minyak Tulku Rinpoche has reported back to the monastery after completing all the covid-19 quarantine norms here. Drepung Gomang Monastery and all its monks sincerely convey its deepest gratitude to Geshe las, Anne la, Maggie la and all the kind members of Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging compassion/Tashi Gomang Dharma Center for the tremendous support and care extended to the group when the whole nation was put on lockdown and travel were restricted.

More than 500 monks were tested with RT-PCR for Covid-19 virus under the supervision of His Eminence Khen Rinpoche and the administration. The test was done with collaboration with DTR hospital, Mundgod Taluk Hospital and assisted by Ven. Jamyang Tashi, the health coordinator of the monastery.
